2 Breakfasts You Should “Avoid” To Prevent Morning Drowsiness – Honest Advice From A Sleep Doctor!

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day because a well-balanced meal gives the body the energy to start the day. After a night of fasting, the body needs nutrients to boost metabolism and provide sufficient energy throughout the morning. Eating a good เล่นบาคาร่า UFABET เว็บตรง ค่าคอมสูง breakfast improves concentration, memory, and thinking efficiency, allowing us to work more efficiently.

Dr. Deborah Lee   , a sleep specialist at Doctor Fox in partnership with Bed Factory Direct, shares tips for waking up without feeling groggy in the morning, which may have to do with “what you eat for breakfast.” Eating a nutritious breakfast can help prevent irritability and mood swings caused by low blood sugar levels. However, popular foods like toast or cereal can actually make us feel worse in the long run.

“Choosing a breakfast that has both carbohydrates and protein can help you feel more alert quickly. Eggs are a good source of protein, and if you have time to cook, an omelet with your favorite meat and cheese can help you feel more energized,” says Dr. Lee.

She also warned against eating foods high in sugar, such as sugary cereals, as they can make you feel more sleepy.  “Eating too much sugar in the morning, such as sugary cereals, can spike your blood sugar levels and make you feel more sleepy in the morning.”  Dr. Lee also recommends that you don’t drink coffee right after waking up,  but rather wait about 45 minutes for the caffeine to work its best.

The NHS (National Health Service) has come up with healthy breakfast ideas including smoothies, porridge, overnight oats, cheddar, scrambled eggs, omelets, Greek yogurt with fruit, avocado and toast, baked beans and toast. Remember, choosing the right breakfast can help you start the day feeling refreshed and energized!
